At the beginning of your appointment, you and Sarah will review your medical history, your medications, and your calendar for the next two weeks.
Next, you’ll raise your brows and frown while Sarah points out where the early lines are forming. From there, the two of you will decide whether to treat them today.
Once you’ve decided, Sarah will precisely place the injections at the sites you marked together. Having had it done ourselves, we can tell you the pinches are over before you’ve finished talking about your weekend. Afterward, you’ll stay upright for the rest of the afternoon, but you can go right back to work.
Am I Too Young for Preventative Botox, and How Many Units Would I Need?
This is a common concern, and one you should absolutely raise with Sarah! Together, you’ll check whether your frown lines disappear when your face relaxes, the stage at which a small dose can keep them from etching in.
Based on how much your muscles move, you and Sarah will likely settle on about half the units someone in their 40s would need. As injectors, we start low, since we can add two units at your two-week check but can’t take any back. In fact, if your lines don’t show at rest yet, we’d rather you wait a year than treat a line that isn’t there.
Within a day or two, you’ll notice the frown line softening. If texture is what’s bothering you, she may suggest microneedling with PRP instead.
